I was just about to post my article focusing on behavioral science and Gestalt psychology, when I recognized…it’s Friday. I cannot punish you, guys, with a piece about facts and science couple of hours before the long-awaited weekend. My week has been crazy busy and exhausting, so like you, I deserve a little bit of fun.
The mission now is to have a good laugh. Give a shot with this article: 26 signs you’ve been in Budapest too long.
The list highlights and sometimes exaggerates certain aspects of life in Budapest from an expat point of view, but in an extremely funny way. And I have to admit, the author got it right. Yes, due to being Hungarian and especially from Budapest, I do love sour creme and there is no food that I cannot put it on. A habit of us which rarely understood by foreigners. Try it before judging me.
And of course, I don’t sit down on public transport. Most of us don’t. Others might have a different explanation, but I believe the reason lies in the way we are raised. We are hard wired at a very young age to yield the place to elders, people with kids and pregnant women. Not only because it’s polite, but also safer. That is kind of the half population, hence there is no chance you can sit through a whole journey without feeling the urge to give your place to someone else. So why bother? Less hassle and trouble just standing.
Have a relaxing weekend, folks!
