Color is like fashion where trends are coming and going. Just remember that specific blue, which is now and forever associated with the ’80s. Yes, I had that eyeshadow, too. Unfortunately, not in the ’80s, though.

Make-up industry is not the only one following color trends, you can find seasonal color palette in design, fashion, home decor, marketing and so on.

I have just found this stellar article about Color Trends in Design 2015 collecting and listing the main predictions in the field of colors. According to the post, the comeback of earthy, natural color is expected along with the blend of bright colors and soft pastels.

It also states the proud winner of color trends in this year. And the award goes to…Marsala. Sounds fancy, isn’t it? (It reminds me of Indian food, to be honest. Maybe because of the similarity to Masala. Preferably chicken…)

A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.

It does resemble red wine, if memory serves well (I am more of a white wine person). And my penetrating analysis ends here. In my defense, color is not my forte. Thankfully, we have our color specialist, whose opinion surely more accurate than mine.

She says that Marsala is a typical fall-winter color that she cannot imagine to be used throughout the whole year, because the color is too heavy and filling for the season of spring and summer.

What do you think about Pastone’s color of the year?
