One good reason to live in Vienna
There are many perks of living in Vienna, and I will definitely find some time to write an article about all of them, or at least the main ones. But today I`d like to share one single reason, why I love living here. And this reason is the concerts.
Almost every day there is a great concert either in the city hall or in a jazz club or some random place in the city. No matter what kind of music you like, there is always somewhere to go. No joke, it`s simply overwhelming. How can I choose?
I am not a regular concert-goer, if such word exists, but time to time I like to pick a good concert to enjoy great music. My last concert was in….let me think, somewhere in the neighborhood of 2008 or 2009. A good 6-7 years ago, so it was high time to have fun with another ten couple of thousand people.
Since a concert is a special treat, the best is to choose a legend, right? Thankfully, our designer shared my view on legends and joined me to see none other, but TOM JONES.
I don’t deny it, I was worried. I mean apart from being super excited, of course. Well, he is 75 years old. He is The Voice, but still…75 years, that`s a lot. Is his voice still strong enough? Can he sing for over an hour? Does he still have that electrifying charisma and expression? Can he enchant thousands of people? These and similar thoughts were flashing in my mind. I had seen him once before (it was fan-tas-tic) and I so didn`t want to ruin that memory.
I`m sure you are all on the edge to know what the concert was like.
I just cannot put into words. It was…it was…I mean, OH MY GOODNESS! I had goosebumps…on my face. I didn`t even know that was possible. Sure, he danced less, but his voice has not changed a bit. The whole event was one of a kind experience and after 2 hours dancing and singing (the people next to me might say screaming) I felt it was too short.
Our designer said “It was super cool and crazy professional.” And I am not exaggerating when I say, she was smiling without any break during that 2 hours. I would be pretty surprised, if she can move her face today.
His secret - and we all agree on this here, in TACO Studio - is the fact that he loves what he does. He truly and genuinely enjoys every moment of being on stage, singing and entertaining. And the audience feels it and appreciates it with ceaseless applause and with inevitable throwing panties. I think, I also saw some bras flying.
I can only hope that I will have at least half of his energy when I am 75. Actually, I hope I will live that long….
